PRE-FINALE EPISODES | There might be one more round in the game of musical chairs that's plagued Bombshell and Hit List this season. The latter production “might have no choice but to continue without one of its core cast members soon,” says showrunner Josh Safran, and it won't necessarily have anything to do with the fact that Jimmy's drug dealer Adam has been skulking around the stage door. Plus, Safran promises, that eye-popping cameo from Ellis in Episode 11 was just the first of several appearances by Season 1 regulars.
MAY 25 SEASON FINALE (ESTIMATED) | “Someone is pregnant! Someone is arrested! There is a kiss between a gay man and straight man — who kisses back!” teases Safran. Plus, expect to see a musical number performed by “the entire principal cast,” the rekindling of a Season 1 relationship (or maybe even two) and “all the loose ends from this season getting tied up — some more happily than others.” In other words, says Safran, there will be winners and losers when the curtain finally closes on Smash's fictitious Broadway world.
