"On Broadway" is the sixteenth episode and the second season premiere of the American musical drama television series Smash. The episode was written by Joshua Safran and directed by Michael Morris. It premiered on NBC on February 5, 2013. "On Broadway" picks up three weeks after the events of the first season finale. The cast and crew of the fictional musical Bombshell return to New York City following out-of-town tryouts in Boston, to mixed critical reviews. Bombshell faces creative and financial difficulties in its effort to open on Broadway and several of the characters find their personal lives in upheaval.

Episode 2 - NBC - 2013 - The Fallout - S02E02

"The Fallout" is the seventeenth episode of the American television series Smash. It was written by Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky and directed by Craig Zisk. The episode premiered on NBC on February 5, 2013, the second half of the season two two-hour premiere. In "The Fallout" the creative team behind the fictional musical Bombshell to repair their reputations and mount the show following legal allegations about the source of financing for the show and sexual harassment charges leveled at director Derek Wills (Jack Davenport) by several women. Bombshell star Karen Cartwright (Katharine McPhee) encounters resistance when she tries to aid a new composing team working on their first musical.

Episode 3 - NBC - 2013 - The Dramaturg

Julia and Tom work with a new writing partner, a dramaturg, also known as a script doctor, played by Daniel Sunjata, in order to fix the plot of the Bombshell musical. Karen Cartwright (Katharine McPhee) has recorded a demo of "Good For You", a song that her new friends Jimmy Collins and Kyle Bishop (Andy Mientus) have written as part of a musical they are working on. Karen confers with Derek Wills (Jack Davenport) about the song in an attempt to help the two young men get the musical made. Derek is also attempting to work with Veronica Moore (Jennifer Hudson) to get reinstated as the director of a remake of "The Wiz".

Episode 4 - NBC - 2013 - The Song

Derek (Jack Davenport) calls in help for a special event, but Jimmy’s (Jeremy Jordan) pride might get in the way of a huge opportunity Karen (Katharine McPhee) orchestrates for him and Kyle (Andy Mientus). Peter (guest star Daniel Sunjata) challenges Julia’s (Debra Messing) pride as they continue to work together. Meanwhile, Ronnie (guest star Jennifer Hudson) struggles to assert her independence from a powerful mother (guest star Sheryl Lee Ralph), as Eileen (Anjelica Huston) finds herself at a moral crossroads with huge ramifications for "Bombshell."
